Abstract

Abdominal pain is a frequent cause of consultation in emergency services. Anamnesis is fundamental, characteristics of abdominal pain usually allows to determine a suspect diagnosis, which is frequently confirmed with the ulterior study. This kind of patients can have cardiovascular causes of abdominal pain, that can be severe. Electrocardiogram and laboratory tests can be obtained in every patient in a quick way, and the first one is essential in the diagnosis of myocardial infarction. Laboratory tests can be useful in the diagnosis of acute mesenteric ischemia or pulmonary thromboembolism, in these diagnosis and in the case of suspiction of aortic aneurysm ruptura is very helpful asking for a computer tomography. But in case the patient has abnormal vital signs and an acute mesenteric ischemia or aortic aneurysm rupture is suspected, an urgent laparomy is indicated, it is diagnostic and it allows to treat the cause.
