Abstract
Introduction

Wide QRS tachycardias present a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge for the clinician, as they may be a manifestation of benign arrhythmias, such as aberrantly or potentially fatal supraventricular tachycardias, such as ventricular tachycardias or preexcited arrhyth mias.

Diagnosis

The diagnosis is based on the correct interpretation of the electrocardiographic findings within the clinical and hemodynamic context of the patient, which includes, if the situation permits, to carry out a differential electrocardiographic diagnosis, for which we will assist in the identification of Criteria and electrocardiographic patterns and the application of different validated algorithms.

Management

In the acute management of ventricular tachycardias, it will be essential to take into consideration the hemodynamic situation of the patient, using electrical cardioversion in those cases in which the patient shows signs of instability (hypotension, decreased level of consciousness, anginal pain or Heart failure, among others) or to the administration of drugs in those cases in which the patient is stable, especially in cases of idiopathic ventricular tachycardia sensitive to the administration of certain drugs. In the long term, it will be necessary to evaluate the need for implantation of a defibrillator device, as well as the administration of antiarrhythmic drugs as adjuvant therapy
