Abstract
Introduction

The stomach is the segment of the gastrointestinal tract where they start the main functions of secretion and gastrointestinal digestion.

Pathophysiology

However, the most critical and important in the digestive physiology gastric function is given by its motor activity, which allows storage, starting the process of crushing, digestion and emptying/progression of food to the rest of the digestive tract. Alterations in this complex coordination process can lead to changes in gastric emptying.

Gastroparesis

Although there are pathologies in which an acceleration of gastric emptying, motor dysfunction delay is the predominant and for this reason is the one that occupies much of this review takes place.
